Want to know a little bit more about the fantastical world of The Old Man and The Companion?

I am third year student at Northeastern University studying Music with a concentration in Music Technology. I’ve been a musician for most of my life; music has always surrounded everything I’ve done, and my interest in the industry is ever-expanding. As it's grown, I've also gained an interest in a number of related art forms that oftentimes work hand-in-hand with music. Over the course of my life, I’ve seen how art has the power to affect people in countless meaningful ways, and I hope to act as a catalyst for that impact.

Music:
I began my journey as a musician in the classical world, putting on cello performances in a number of settings since elementary school. My orchestral experiences helped me develop a strong foundation in music theory and gave me the chance to begin composing, especially for orchestral arrangements. But, after years of being stuck in the same genre, the classical world felt somewhat unfulfilling for me and I branched out as a composer and instrumentalist, learning guitar, saxophone, and piano. These instruments and their unique capabilities opened up the world of music for me as I incorporated a number of new elements in my own works as a result. It was also around this time that I began singing, learning the basics of vocal technique in my music theory classes.

Now, I have experience working on indie, folk, rock, jazz, classical, hip-hop, r&b, lo-fi, and even ambient tracks and especially enjoy blending genres where I can. My academic experience with sound and the industry, including acoustics and psychoacoustics, sound design, production, and composition in addition to extensive technical ear training will help provide a jumping off point from which I can continue to expand my reach in the industry. Though, the music industry isn't the only one I'd like the break into.

Animation:

I began animation, direction, and visual art in general when I got to college. My interest was sparked when I watched a youtube video showcasing animators playing an online game called Gartic Phone, in which participants take turns drawing individual frames that are then put together into short animations. I was inspired by the creative freedom and immense amount of expression present for the artists in every decision made for each and every individual frame. After a couple more youtube tutorials, I found myself animating stick figures on my computer using my touchpad to draw.

After a few months of practice, I'd taught myself some basic animation principles, upgraded to the Flipaclip app on my phone, and found myself with my first real opportunity in the industry. Since May of 2025, I've been animating a cut for an amateur fan collaboration run by Upside Down Studios. The collaboration calls for each participant to animate a few pages of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. This experience has taught me countless animation lessons, but namely helped me to learn human anatomy, lighting, fluid motion, ease-in/ease-out, camera movement, and a number of other principles. It was also my first experience working with other animators in a pipeline similar to one present in professional studios.

The Old Man and The Companion:

These experiences helped me to very recently decide to head my own animation project. Though, this idea had actually been in the works for years by this point, having originally been proposed as a collaborative writing project by some of my close highschool friends. We'd written a shell of a world around a raw but inspired main story and always had dreams of making the story a reality in some way. I decided that I was interested enough in animation, direction, and enough other related skills that I may be able to head the production of an indie animated tv show myself. Since that decision, I've gathered a team of over forty interested animators, over ten concept artists, two voice actors, and a sound designer for the project. It's been named "The Old Man and The Companion," and production for the pilot episode will begin in fall.

For OMAC, I'll be the animation director, overseeing the division of cuts, formation of animation teams, creation of storyboards, incorporation of voice acting, and other miscellaneous responsibilities. I will also be a key animator, writer, musician, and voice actor for the project as those skills are called for. I am also currently the lead composer for an independently developed video game project called No Man’s Home, though this project is currently halted. Finally, I am working as the manager and producer for a number of up-and-coming independent artists, giving me insight into the industry from a number of different creator’s perspectives.

I am eager to continue moving forward in the world of art and music and am always interested in talking with, meeting, and or working with anyone that’s interested. I strongly encourage you to contact me via email or using the form linked below!
